The philosophy of the Cottage Grove Volleyball Club is to assist athletes in developing their volleyball skills and provide the opportunity to compete with other players of similar abilities.

Our objectives are to provide an organized program for the youth of the Cottage Grove community that will:

  1. Teach the fundamentals of volleyball.
  2. Develop self-confidence for every player.
  3. Allow each player to have an opportunity to participate and develop.
  4. Play in a safe and healthy environment.
  5. Incorporate the spirit of good sportsmanship in victory OR defeat.
  6. Develop respect for others, teamwork, pride in the team and community.
  7. Success is found in the progress made toward individual and team goals, not by the team’s win/loss record.
  8. No individual is more important than the team. No team is more important than the program.
  9. Allow girls to develop a love for a life long sport.

CGAA Volleyball provides two primary opportunities for female athletes 8 years old (3rd grade) through 16+ years old:

CGAA Recreational (in-house) League: Available for students entering 3rd grade through 6th grade. Our in-house league runs in September and October. Registration begins each summer in July and August, through this website. Our in-house league is focused on equal parts fun, skills development, and team-building.  This is a great introduction to the sport of volleyball!
CGAA JO (Club) League: Available for students ages 11 through 16 (Older if enough players to make a team), JO (Junior Olympics) Volleyball provides a competitive, traveling volleyball experience.  The season runs from the end of November to April. CGAA JO strives to provide a high-quality club program. Click on the JO League Tab at the top left for tryout information.
Please see tabs to the left for more information on each league.
